Insofar as your area is concerned, they were both involved with what began as a remodel of a defunct restaurant which turned into a full-blown construction project when it did not prove feasible to remodel the building for our Fish Market Restaurant operation. Not only did my partner and I gain a real respect for their work but I feel confident about their performance to recommend them to the Bank of Del Mar, an organization I was involved in as a founding Director. The work was performed in a thoroughly satisfactory manner, on time and under budget. Because of their performance on these two jobs both my partner and I utilized them to construct our San Diego Fish Market Restaurant which we completed about 4-1/2 years ago. Because we utilized a time and materials contract, I can't say whether they were on budget or not but both my partner and myself were satisfied with their work and would not hesitate to use them again in any project that we might have in the San Diego County area.

As a matter of fact, I am utilizing them on a remodel of my home in Del Mar which is more than cosmetic due to the fact it will probably end up being in excess of $500,000 in cost. Steigerwald-Dougherty built my partner's home in Del Mar and I have seen other homes that they have built including a recently completed home in La Jolla which probably cost in the range of $2 million or more.

Your firm asked if there were any call backs on work completed. I don't know of a job in which we have been involved whether it is with this company or any other contractor where call backs were not a factor. I can assure you that Steigerwald-Dougherty responds quickly and whatever the problem they take care of it in a totally satisfactory manner.
